How we choose

This shelf is rooted in historic Protestant Christianity, and most of what you'll find here comes from Reformed, evangelical, and Baptist writers. We also include careful work from scholars outside that tradition when it serves readers well, and when it matters, the description says where an author is coming from.

We're glad to shelve books that disagree with each other, and with us. Honest debate over doctrine, practice, and the reading of Scripture is part of how the church has always done theology.

We leave off

If you think we've shelved something that doesn't belong, or missed something that does, write to us at info@thepickyreader.com.
